Die Gegend

Die Wohnung liegt in Via Mastro Giorgio im Wohnviertel Testaccio, nicht weit entfernt von wichtigen Monumenten wie dem Circo Massimo und dem Bocca della Verità. Sie ist ideal mit der U-Bahn (B Linie) verbunden, die Station Piramide ist wenige Meter von dem Apartment entfernt. Das Stadtviertel Testaccio ist eins der ältesten Roms und sehr nah an den meistbesuchtesten Sehenswürdigkeiten. Zwischen dem 2. und 3. Jahrhundert v. Chr. war dieses Stadtviertel der fluviale Hafen des antiken Roms, in dem die Waren aus der Hafenstadt Ostia ankamen.

Heute zeigt sich Testaccio als ein vielseitiges und angenehmes Stadtviertel in dem man den wahren römischen Geist spüren kann, das aber auch voller Energie und Innovation steckt. In diesem Stadtviertel befindet sich das neue Museum zeitgenössischer Kunst, das MACRO Future, das in einem alten Schlachthaus eröffnet wurde. Jeden Morgen von Montag bis Samstag findet ein uriger Markt statt, auf dem frisches Obst, Gemüse , Kräuter und Blumen verkauft werden. Nicht weit von der Wohnung entfernt findet jeden Sonntag morgen der berühmte Flohmarkt von Porta Portese statt. Das Stadtgebiet von Monte Testaccio bietet außerdem dank der verschiedenen modischen Lokale ein belebtes Nachtleben an. Manche dieser Lokale und Diskotheken wurden in einen künstlichen Hügel eingebaut und in manchen von diesen kann man alte Amphoren finden.

Die Wohnung ist ideal um tagsüber touristische Touren zu machen und sich abends in dem lebhaften Nachtleben von Testaccio zu entspannen, wo man typisch römische Speisen in den vielen Restaurants und Gaststätten kosten kann.

Die Wohnung

Sie befindent sich im ersten Stock eines charaktervollen Gebäudes vom Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts, mit einem grossen Innenhof und Portier.

Es wurde vor kurzer Zeit renoviert und macht, mit modernen und funktionellen Möbeln eingerichtet, einen sehr intimen Eindruck. Das kleine Wohnzimmer hat ein Doppel-Sofabett (190x160 cm) und eine Kochecke. Die Kochecke ist komplett ausgestattet mit Mikrowelle, Gasherd, Kühlschrank und Spülmaschine. Im Wohnzimmer bieten wir auch einen Fernsehen mit Satellitenempfang und DVD-Player an.

Ein Vorzimmer teilt den Raum in eine Tag- und eine Nachtzone, um den Gästen die gewünschte Privatsphäre zu schenken. Im Schlafzimmer stehen ein großes Doppelbett und ein großer Schrank. Ein aufklappbares Bett, das ins Wohnzimmer gestellt werden kann, bietet die Möglichkeit, eine sechste Person zu beherbergen.

Das geräumige, mit weißen und türkisen Farbtönen dekorierte Badezimmer ist mit einer Dusche ausgestattet.

Die Wohnung hat außerdem noch eine Klimaanlage, eine Waschmaschine, einen Safe, Zentralheizung und kostenloses W-LAN, um dem Gast maximalen Komfort anzubieten.

Vom Flughafen aus

Taxi Service

Auf Eure Anfrage hin empfängt Euch ein Fahrer bei den Flughäfen Fiumicino oder Ciampino, um euch bis an Eure Wohnung zu bringen. Ihr könnt diesen Service einfach mit einer E-Mail bestellen, in der Ihr uns die Details Eures Fluges angebt.

Vom Flughafen Leonardo da Vinci - Fiumicino aus

Nehmt den Zug und steigt beim Bahnhof Ostiense aus. Von hier lauft Ihr die Viale delle Cave Ardeatine am Bahnhof Ostiense entlang und weiter über die Via Marmorata bis Largo Gelsomini. Hier wendet Ihr Euch nach links Richtung via Galvani, die zweite Straße rechts ist via Mastro Giorgio.

Vom Flughafen Ciampino aus

Nehmt den Bus CO.TRA.L bei der Haltestelle “Arrivi Bus” bis zur U-Bahn Station “Anagnina” und von hier aus die U-Bahn Richtung Rom Termini. Hier kann man die U-Bahn Line B nehmen – Richtung Laurentina – und bei der Haltestelle „Piramide“ aussteigen. Von dort aus geht Ihr die via Marmorata entlang, biegt nach links in die via Galvani ein, und die zweite Straße rechts in die via Mastro Giorgio.
Alternativ zum Bahnhof Termini kann man den Bus Nr. 75 in Richtung via Poerio nehmen und in der via Marmorata aussteigen, von dort aus die via Vanvitelli entlang gehen, die via Mastro Giorgio ist die zweite Straße links.

Ab dem Bahnhof

Im Bahnhof Roma Termini kann man die U-Bahn Linie B in Richtung Laurentina nehmen und an der Haltestelle „Piramide“ aussteigen. Von dort aus geht Ihr die via Marmorata entlang, biegt nach links in die via Galvani ein, und die zweite Straße rechts in die via Mastro Giorgio.

The apartment is comfortable and furnished with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. It is well situated with a large local market that sets up daily Monday through Saturday from 7a.m. until 1p.m., there are many neighbourhood restaurants, a laundromat, shops and most importantly it is reasonably close to bus and metro. I would highly recommend it and would stay there again!

We loved staying in Testaccio. It's a lovely neighborhood away from the tourist scene, but close enough to see the city center sights. There is a wonderful morning market there. We made some great meals from the fresh ingredients that were readily available, inexpensive and literally just steps from our door. Checking in was easy and the apartment was very comfortable. Violarosso has some great gelati. Pizzaria Remo is the best pizza we ever had. There were 3 in our party and there was ample room for all of us. We bought a weekly pass on the Metro and used it to go to a specific area, and then explore it on foot all day. Easy to get around!
I would recommend this neighborhood and this apartment and would rent the same place if I ever get back to Rome!
